Hi everyone! I’m Doug Welker. My wife Emma and I founded At Home Habitat LLC in 2023 with a vision to bring environmentally friendly projects to our neighbor’s backyards. It all started in 2021 when we bought a house together. I rented a sod cutter and removed over 1000 sq. ft. of yard to plant a wildflower garden. That garden has grown to a fully established prairie that provides food and shelter to numerous local species. We also replaced an old crumbling porch with a modern deck. Our backyard is one of our happiest places to be, enjoying the outdoors and all the wildlife our projects attract. We want to share all the good times our projects have enabled with others. We aim to provide affordable, quality and environmentally conscious outdoor construction projects. We believe people and wildlife are meant to coexist and look forward to working with you to make outdoor recreation space for your family, pets and to restore habitat for native species.
